BMR Calculator
Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and daily calorie needs based on your age, gender, height, weight, and activity level.
How to Use the BMR Calculator
Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) represents the number of calories your body needs to maintain basic physiological functions at rest.
- Choose Your Units: Select between Metric (kg/cm) or Imperial (lbs/ft) measurements at the top.
- Enter Your Information: Fill in your gender, age, weight, and height. All fields are required for accurate calculation.
- Calculate Your BMR: Click the "Calculate BMR" button to see your results instantly.
- View Activity Levels: See your total daily calorie needs based on different activity levels, from sedentary to super active.
- Plan Your Diet: Use these numbers to plan your daily caloric intake for weight maintenance, loss, or gain.
Understanding Your Results
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which is considered one of the most accurate BMR formulas. Your BMR is then multiplied by activity factors to estimate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
Activity Level Guide
- Sedentary: Desk job, little to no exercise
- Light Activity: Light exercise 1-3 days per week
- Moderate Activity: Moderate exercise 3-5 days per week
- Very Active: Heavy exercise 6-7 days per week
- Super Active: Very heavy exercise, physical job, or training twice a day
